ROAD SCHOLAR: MOROCCO MELTING POT, February 2016

The Center for Cross Cultural Learning is delighted to host the Road Scholar fellows for an educational venture this February. Our team has been taking all the necessary measures to make the trip meets everyone’s expectations. We wish a wonderful journey for our fellows with us in Morocco.

SIT MOJ Spring 2016 program

CCCL is hosting Morocco Field Studies in Journalism and New Media for the Spring semester for a group of students from the School of International Training (SIT). This program will last from January 31st to May 14th, 2016. It consists of various components: orientation on Moroccan way of living and habits, conferences on culture, politics and religion as well as Arabic courses. Throughout the program, the students will have site visits, excursions, partnerships with Moroccan Students in the Journalism School and lectures in the field of Journalism and Media as well. To ease their Arabic learning process and practice, students are placed in homestay with Moroccan families to get a full immersion in the Moroccan culture. Students go also on Independent Study Project that they will present within the last week of the program.
 

SIT MULTICULTURALISM AT CCCL

The center is hosting a group of students from the School of International Training (SIT) for the Multiculturalism and Human Rights program that spans from January 31st 2016 to May the 14th of the same year.

The program consists of an orientation week to the Moroccan way of life, homestay, three cultural and educational excursions to different cities and rural areas, Darija classes, Standard Arabic language classes, and lectures by proponents in the fields of human rights, religion, gender studies, art, social development, and politics in Morocco.

The program ends with students presenting their independent study projects for which they will be working on for three weeks.

 

 

 

SIT MIGRATION SPRING SEMESTER AT CCCL

CCCL will be hosting Morocco Migration and Transnational Identity program for the Spring semester for a group of students from School for International Training (SIT). This program will start on January 31st and will end on May 14th, 2016. It consists of various components, among which: orientation sessions about health issues, Moroccan habits, customs and other lectures on culture, politics and religion, as well as Arabic courses. Throughout the program, the students will visit some Governmental administrations as well as some local NGOs and foundations working on the topic of migration and will have lectures that pour in the field of Migration and Transnational Identity. To ease their Arabic learning and practice, they will be placed in different homestay with families to get a full immersion in the Moroccan culture. Students will participate in four seminars and three excursions. At the end of the program, each of them will present an independent study project.
 

Gettysburg group at CCCL

CCCL will be hosting a group of 10 students and 2 of their supervisors from Gettysburg College from January 6th to January 15th, 2016. On the program: an introduction to Morocco, conferences on gender, family life, women and religion in Morocco and women in rural areas. Group discussions, visit to some NGO and cultural and educational trips to Marrakech, Aghmat and Casablanca are also on the program.
